Chelsea valves were developed and specifically designed for the application of controlling the engagement and disengagement of PTO drives. How to identify a Chelsea PTO
Every Parker Chelsea power take-off carries an ID tag riveted to the housing. The first three digits of the model number are the series (for example 221, 280, 442, 489, 852 or 890) and the letters that follow encode the mounting arrangement, gear ratio, shift type and output. If the tag is missing, the bolt pattern (6-bolt, 8-bolt or 10-bolt) and the housing casting narrow it down. Send us the full model number, or a photo of the tag and the transmission it is bolted to, and we will identify the unit and pull the exact parts list. Chelsea publishes an application catalog that matches each transmission (Eaton Fuller, Allison, Mack, Meritor, ZF, Spicer and more) to the PTO series, mounting side and gear that will mesh with its PTO drive gear. Chelsea PTO pumps
Most Chelsea PTOs drive a hydraulic pump, either direct-mounted to the PTO output flange or remote-mounted through a driveline.
